As much as I wish I were talking about the scaly, flying, fire-breathing kind, I'm not. Still, what I have is pretty cool - it is the Dragon voice recognition software. I love it so much! My hands tend to ache after too much time typing or especially hand writing. This weekend I was writing in a notebook, trying to keep it neat for later transcribing when I realized how much of a problem that pain would be later on down the road. So I finally made the decision to get Dragon! (Save the hands!)
It has been so much fun training it, and transcribing with it - I mean, I'll save so much time just doing that! It used to take me twice as long to type while I copied something I'd already handwritten. Anyway, I just thought I'd share my excitement, so... YAY!
By the way, my procrastinating ways aside, I am still going to prove good on my promise to get Zone-E officially published this month. I'm still making my way though my proof (for the last time), but I'm pushing myself forward a little more. At this point every time I look at it I go, "Gosh dangit, I need to get this finished!" So I will. Very Soon. Hoo-rah.

20 Days to Halloween!
I love October. Fall is beginning to actually be fall, there's Halloween decorations everywhere, and it's costume planning time! Do I usually have plans on Halloween? No. I always hated trick or treating and truth be told I don't think I could get away with it anymore. So, what will I be doing? Giving out candy of course! (I've always loved this best - you get to wear the costume, but don't have to waste all the crummy candy that you'll never eat)
Even though nobody will get it, I am going to be Lyza Carroe this year! Why? Because I want to. It will be a fun Zone-E motivator for myself too. How will this motivate me? I'm not so sure... what I am sure of is that Zone-E will be available for sale this month, so ha! (Do I have a date yet, well... no, but if I don't get it done this month...NO I will not even type that. I will be releasing Zone-E this month)
More good news, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is coming this November. Of course, my brain goes, "Sam, you should be in the throes of marketing Zone-E by then. How can you even think of writing another book?" Because Brain, that's what I do. I can't help it. The fun for me is typing those words (Fun part 2 is seeing them in book form).
So... lots of fun coming up! I'm gunna go work on Zone-E some more now, but before I do, here's a picture of me in the beginnings of my Lyza costume :P
(By the way, that eye-patch is not comfortable. I do not envy Lyza at all, poor thing. Imagine losing an eye and then having to wear that.)
